“I have hated the congregation … and with the wicked ones I do not sit.”

(Psalm 26:4, 5, NWT 1984)

Many Jehovah’s Witnesses feel bored during their meetings, but they are afraid of talking about it. The same applies to many young people who must be present only because of their parents. Like to Jehovah, “the calling of conventions” is detestable to them, and just like him they “cannot put up with the … assembly.” – Isaiah 1:13.

But only hating the congregation is not enough. At some point David decided not to ‘sit with the wicked ones’ any longer. Anyone who is still attending Jehovah’s Witnesses’ meetings in our time must follow David’s example and take action. As soon as he stops exposing himself to the weekly brainwashing, he will notice how much he has been misled. Only so he can free himself from “the burden of Jehovah” and really “become free.” – Jeremiah 23:33; John 8:33.

“You brought us into a hunting net; you put a crushing burden upon us.”

(Psalm 66:11)

How has Jehovah “brought us into a hunting net?” By using “fishers of men” who are “catching men alive.” (Mark 1:17; Luke 5:10) “Jehovah has put a deceptive spirit in the mouth of all … [his] prophets,” and “we have entered … into water” and were baptized as Jehovah’s Witnesses. (1 Kings 22:23; Psalm 66:12, YLT) “Through his ‘faithful and discreet slave’” God “put a crushing burden” in form of field service, meetings, Watchtower volumes, incompetent elders and countless commands of men “upon us.” – Our Kingdom Ministry, May 1985, page 3.

Then, however, Jesus words were fulfilled toward us: “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32) Through personal experiences in the congregation, by own research, of due to loving care from apostates we came to “know the truth” about God, his word, and his witnesses. Our new knowledge “brought us to a place of relief.” (Psalm 66:12) “For such freedom Christ set us free.” – Galatians 5:1.

“There was a dense darkness …

… in all the land of Egypt for three Days … and none of them got up from where they were for three days.” (Exodus 10:22, 23)

In our time there is no literal darkness anymore, but also “today it is not Pharaoh who is ruler … [but] Jehovah God, the Greater Pharaoh.” (Survival Into a New Earth, page 79) Accordingly the “darkness” does not come upon Pharaoh’s people, the Egyptians, but upon Jehovah’s people. This happens every year during the “three-day district conventions, organized by Jehovah’s Witnesses.” (The Watchtower, July 1, 2007, page 7) Like the Egyptians, Jehovah’s Witnesses do not ‘get up from where they are for three days’ because “getting up unnecessarily” and “moving about unnecessarily” is prohibited. – Exodus 10:23; Our Kingdom Ministry, February 1988, page 7; May 1993, page 6.

Some may object and say that at these conventions there is not “darkness” but rather “brighter light.” (The Watchtower, September 15, 2011, page 14) But the prophet Isaiah already warned against “those who are putting darkness for light.” (Isaiah 5:20, NWT 1984) And “Satan … put forth error … as a substitute for truth. In other words, he put darkness for light. Interestingly, it was regarding life, saying that Eve would not die but would continue to live in the flesh on earth if she did as he suggested. He promised her increased enlightenment.” – The Watchtower, May 15, 1976, page 304.

So Jehovah’s Witnesses follow Satan’s example. They too keep saying that their followers “would not die but would continue to live in the flesh on earth” if they follow the Watchtower doctrines. This started as early as 1918 with the discourse “Millions now living will never die!” and continues to this day. (Jehovah’s Witnesses – Proclaimers of God’s Kingdom, page 425) Like the devil, they ‘promise increased enlightenment’ in the form of “accurate knowledge of God’s purpose.” (The Watchtower, September 1, 2009, page 6) But in actual fact, their conventions are “a dense [spiritual] darkness!”

“They will not go hungry …

… nor will they thirst, nor will scorching heat or the sun beat down on them.” – Isaiah 49:10

“Heat waves have increased globally since 1950, and individual heat waves have become more frequent, longer and hotter.” (livescience) And “summer heat can be dangerous, even deadly … The elderly and ill aren’t the only people that heat kills. It also kills healthy young people.” (Agingcare.com) Experts advise: “Avoid outdoors … Stay inside … Drink, drink, and drink.” (MediTrenz.com) However, “well over eight million people worldwide attend the annual district conventions of Jehovah’s Witnesses every year,” and “most of the large district conventions” are “held in open-air stadiums.” (Awake!, June 8, 1999, page 32; 1998 Yearbook of Jehovah’s Witnesses, page 134) Attendees are exposed to hot sun and must stay outdoors all day.

Though there is “no food service at conventions … some in the audience have been observed eating and drinking during the program” – this is absolutely vital for health reasons but considered “disrespectful” and “inappropriate” by the organizers (Our Kingdom Ministry, May 1997, page 20). The Bible aptly describes those who turned their back on this inhuman cult: “They will hunger no more nor thirst anymore, neither will the sun beat down on them nor any scorching heat.” – Revelation 7:16.
