“He drives like a madman.”

(2 Kings 9:20)

Readers of the Bible know of “Jehu’s reputation as a furious chariot driver.” (The Watchtower, August 1, 2005, page 11) Since “Jehu foreshadowed … Jesus Christ,” we as Christians “must keep imitating Jehu.” (The Watchtower, March 1, 1985, page 14; April 1, 1969, page 205) Thus, if we own a car, we should use it in harmony with God’s will.

“Jehu had a reputation for driving his chariot furiously.” (The Watchtower, January 1, 1998, page 13) “Why not think about your vehicle, [and] your driving habits?” (“Keep Yourselves in God’s Love”, page 80) As disciples “of the Greater Jehu, Jesus Christ,” it is our obligation to drive “like a maniac” too. (2 Kings 9:20, NIV; The Watchtower, January 1, 1998, page 17) In some countries we may be “pursued by the police” because of that, but many Christians have faced such persecution. (Jehovah’s Witnesses – Proclaimers of God’s Kingdom, page 184) After all, “we must obey God as ruler rather than men.” – Acts 5:29.
